On Tues., May 21, the Affton School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Brian Boehm as Director of Activities for the 2024-25 school year.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our school community."
Boehmβs impressive track record in school activities is a testament to his dedication and expertise. He has excelled in various roles, including head coach for varsity boys and girls volleyball, boys basketball, and boys swim. His outstanding performance was recognized when he was named the Sub-East Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2013 and Class 3A Coach of the Year in 2016. In addition to his athletic experience, Boehm has served as a physical education teacher at Affton High School since 2008. His leadership extends beyond the classroom, as he has also served as Summer School Principal for four years, PE & Health Department Chair, and a member of the District Buildings & Grounds Committee, Activities Committee, and Wellness Committee.

Boehm earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, as well as a master's degree in activity/athletic administration and a masterβs degree in educational administration from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.
Boehm lived in Affton for the first 20 years of his life, attending Affton Schools and graduating in 1999. While at Affton, he played football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball and was a part of four District Championship teams. He currently lives in Sunset Hills with his wife, Chasady, whom he met while working at the Affton Schnucks on Gravois over 23 years ago. They have two children, Bailey, who just graduated from Lindbergh High School and will attend Mizzou next fall, and Cohen, who will be a junior at Lindbergh next fall. They have a pet pig named Millie and spend most of their free time traveling with their children, watching their club volleyball games all across the U.S.
Boehm will begin serving as Director of Activities on July 1.
