Recognize a special person who has gone above and beyond in their contributions to make a significant difference in the Affton School District and community.
NOMINATION INFORMATION
The Affton School District proudly announces the 28th annual SOAR (Service & Outstanding Achievement Recognition) Award Program. The SOAR Award is bestowed upon individuals who show excellence of character, performance, leadership, and service to the Affton School District and community, and is presented to a maximum of six individuals each year.
The 2024 SOAR Awards will be presented in-person on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Affton High School Auditorium (8309 Mackenzie Road, 63123).
Eligibility Guidelines
Any individual providing volunteer service to the Affton School District or working at an Affton School District location is eligible to be nominated for the SOAR Award. This can include a volunteer or community member, support staff, or professional staff. Previous SOAR recipients are not eligible to be nominated for a period of five (5) years from their selection. Selection Process
The SOAR Award honorees are selected anonymously by a seven-member committee representing a cross-section of Affton citizens, staff, and former SOAR recipients.
Application Deadline
Completed applications must be received by Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Special Note
An annual Superintendent’s Award can be given, and the Affton School District Teacher of the Year will be recognized during the SOAR Awards Program.
Previous Winners
Previous SOAR Award Winners are not eligible to be nominated for a period of five (5) years from the year of their selection. A complete list of previous recipients may be found here.
