Props I+N

Gotsch Gymnasium GroundbreakingIn 2016, voters approved a $0.38 operating tax levy (Proposition I) and $25 million bond issue (Proposition N) to provide long-term financial stability for the district by balancing the budget, avoiding further cuts in staff and programs, maintaining the ability to pay teachers a competitive salary, and enabling the district to continue its program of keeping buildings well maintained with up-to-date educational spaces.

As promised, Affton School District has honored its commitment to the community by selling $20.9 million in bonds in January 2017 as part of Proposition N. Those funds have been used to retire capital lease debt from 2011-12, add funds to the general revenue, as well as provide $9 million for capital improvement projects throughout the district.
