Affton School District and the YMCA are excited to have the opportunity to provide your child’s summer camp experience and would like to welcome you to YMCA Camp Cougar at Gotsch! Camp will run from June 6 – July 29
We would like to invite you and your campers to join us at the Carondelet Park Rec Complex on Friday, May 20 for our Camp Family Orientation. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30pm, followed by a brief presentation of all our camps, and we will use the remaining time to answer campers’ and parents’ questions and also have the opportunity to meet our camp staff for this summer.
Registration can be submitted online through the Carondelet Park Rec Complex page.

Other items that can be found on the YMCA site include the Camp Family Handbook and an Inclusion Packet (this is for children with special needs who might need extra assistance at camp – a copy of IEP is also required).
Below is a copy of the typical day as well as items needed on a daily basis. You will see that we have fun filled days planned for your child, as well as the opportunity enrich their lives with the Y’s daily Health and Wellness activities as well as staying on top of their reading skills with 30 minutes dedicated to Camp Readers program – helping each child stay ahead of summer reading loss.
All payments for each of the weeks will need to be paid in full by the WEDNESDAY prior to that week. For assistance setting up automatic bill pay, contact Camp Registrar, De Schira: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you receive assistance from the state for child care you must supply the state approval letter with your registration. The payment arrangements need to be made with our camp registrar.
Again, we are excited with the partnership between the YMCA and Affton School District. This is going to be the Best Summer Ever for all the families enrolling in our camps.

TYPICAL DAY CAMP SCHEDULE:
All full day camp hours are 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Extended care (Fun Club) is also available. Please note: most of our Field Trip will be on Thursdays; however we do have a few days that will vary. Fridays will be swim day at the Carondelet Park Rec Complex Outdoor Aquatic Center from 10a-12p followed by sack lunches and all camp activities inside Carondelet Park.

WHAT CAMPERS SHOULD BRING:
- A great attitude
- Tennis shoes
- Water bottle
- Books to read daily
- A sack lunch for field trips on Thursdays and swimming on Fridays (unless you opt to purchase meals from Chartwells (more info below))
- Snack to eat daily (unless you opt to purchase snack from Chartwells (more info below))
- Swim suit and towel on Fridays
- Electronics are prohibited
- Camp attendees may bring their own breakfast, lunch, and/or snack.
- You also have the option of purchasing meals and snack through Chartwells:
- Breakfast – $1.20 per day
- Lunch – $2.25 per day
- Hot lunch will be servedMonday through Wednesday; sack lunches will be available Thursday and Friday
- Snack – $0.50 per day
