Families listened to the story “Horton Hears A Who” and discussed treating people with respect and taking responsibility. Students answered questions about Horton within their pods.
Questions helped them understand what it meansto be responsible and respectful. Ask your student the questions and see how they answer.
- What do you think Dr. Seuss meant when he said a person is a person no matter how small?
- Why do you think Horton was so determined to help the Whos even though the other animals were making fun of him?
Families then did a class activity where the students created a circle and said how they are responsible. They passed a yarn ball as they told how they were responsible and created a responsibility web.
