This week we officially welcome Dr. Travis Bracht who joins Affton School District to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.
Dr. Bracht brings a wide variety of educational experience that spans 14 years and two school districts. For the past five years, he has served as Director for the Francis Howell School District, where his responsibilities included supervising curriculum, instruction, assessment, summer school, budget, literacy, and student acceleration. Prior to holding that position, Dr. Bracht served as science teacher, dean of students, and associate principal. He completed his doctorate degree in May 2011 at Lindenwood University, where he also earned a master’s degree in 2002. Dr. Bracht completed his undergraduate work at the University of Missouri – Columbia, with a bachelor’s degree in unified science with an emphasis in chemistry.
“I am very excited to join the Affton School District,” said Bracht. “I look forward to learning what it takes to accomplish new responsibilities, as well as facing new challenges.”
Dr. Bracht and his wife, Kelly, are the proud parents of two Weimaraner rescue dogs, Lola and Biggie. Kelly also completed her doctorate at Lindenwood University, and currently serves as an assistant principal in the Ferguson-Florissant School District.
