Farewell, Dr. Weissflug

On June 30, we say farewell to Dr. Kenneth Weissflug, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, but it wouldn’t be fitting to do so without saluting his 19 years of service and dedication to the Affton School District. At the June 19 meeting of the Board of Education, Dr. Weissflug was presented with a resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives (pictured below from left: Thomas Bellavia, Treasurer of the Board of Education, and Dr. Kenneth Weissflug).

During his time with the Affton School District, Dr. Weissflug served in the roles of 7th and 8th grade social studies and language arts teacher at Rogers Middle School, was a varsity baseball coach and freshman football and basketball coach at Affton High School, the assistant principal at Mesnier Primary, the principal of Rogers Middle, and the interim superintendent of the Affton School District during the 2010-2011 school year. He was instrumental in the creation of the full-service Affton Early Childhood Center that will be opening in August 2012.

Dr. Weissflug looks forward to spending his retirement on the golf course, as well as with his family: wife, Deborah; children, Benjamin and Vicki Weissflug, Amanda and Adonis Smith, and Melissa Gebhardt; and grandchildren Maximus and Madison Weissflug, and Jackson and Giavanna Smith.

Thank you, Dr. Weissflug. We appreciate you, we will miss you, and we wish you all the best in your retirement.
