One in ten million. The odds of having Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome (OMS). OMS is a rare paraneoplastic neurological disorder, and there is no known cure. However, Thomas Boley is finally able to start walking after monthly infusions, weekly chemo treatments, and multiple daily shots. Thomas was referred to the nation’s leading authority on this disease, and with the help of you and last years fundraisers, he was able to see this doctor. Even with this doctors visit, Thomas still needs medical attention for his disease and with Thomas’ mom staying home with him, and Thomas’ dad working as a teacher at Affton High School, it’s simply not affordable.
Tag Along with Thomas is a walk/run in honor of Thomas Boley. Supporters can gather in teams of 5 to 10. These teams will raise money through pledges. If a person not want to walk in a team, a person can walk alone, but a participation sheet will still need to be completed. Individual participants will receive a blue team DECA-FBLA shirt. Participation sheets can be picked up in Mr. Hildebrand’s room. Teams that participate will ask their friends and families to donate money for every lap the team completes around the track. Friends or relatives can also write a flat amount rather than per lap.
