The Bosnian American Studies class had the opportunity to talk with author Aleksandar Hemon. Students and visitors were able to ask Mr. Hemon questions via Skype for about 90 minutes during 6th hour on Wednesday, October 15.
Born in Sarajevo, Hemon visited Chicago in 1992, intending to stay for a matter of months. While he was there, Sarajevo came under siege, and he was unable to return home. He is the award winning author of five books, including The Question of Bruno, which students read in preparation for the visit with him. Students asked, and Hemon addressed, a variety of questions and topics.
