Affton Advanced Professional Studies

Affton is excited to announce our partnership with the Blue Valley CAPS program. Read more here.

Affton Advanced Professional Studies is an example of how private industries and public education can partner together to produce personalized learning experiences for students. Help us educate the workforce of tomorrow.

What is A@ps?

Students are fully immersed in a profession-based learning approach. Students are able to gain experience working with real businesses, assisting and learning through meaningful projects. In addition to being a part of a real business, students are also paired with mentors out in the field – individuals who are working each day in these professions.

Students in the A@ps program receive high school elective credit and college credit. In addition to important profession-based learning skills, students also gain professional skills, such as problem solving, time and project management, business ethics, and self-discipline.

What Are Advanced Professional Studies?

Affton Advanced Professional Studies immerses students in professional environments while engaging them in curriculum developed by industry professionals and program instructors. This ensures that what is taught in the classroom is relevant to the workforce. Learning is enhanced by project work direct from industry partners who engage to mentor students and ensure timely, accurate, and real project results.
